The AK Cobra 427 is one of the finest recreations of the 1960’s 427 Cobra available. It utilises modern components and chassis designs together with an authentic, unmistakable Cobra body shape to offer the perfect balance between weekend cruiser and track-ready beast.
Whilst there have been some excellent recreations in recent years, there have been none quite like this one here. Bearing the informal mantel of ‘Timmy Turbo’ from its creators, this factory-built AK 427 Cobra is truly one of a kind and is a fully bespoke example.
‘Timmy Turbo’ builds on the incredible success of the AK Generation III chassis, that is home to an undeniably brilliant 5.3L Twin-Turbo LS86 Chevrolet engine, that’s good for between 850-1000bhp! The car’s ultimate party piece, and one like no other.
This is a 2021 (71) AK SPORTSCARS COBRA 427 Convertible 5.7L V8 comes complete with an enormous specification and has covered just 800 miles from new. It has been meticulously stored and cared for throughout its life and was previously AK Cobra’s flagship demo example.
The bodywork is finished in the French Bleu Gris paint with a Red stripe running the width of the car, with roundels and a Number 8 in the Centre. The car sits atop of 17” Satin Black Hallibrand Alloy Wheels. Complimenting the fantastic colours and curves are the huge “four into one” satin finish black side exhausts, which sound even better than they look. There’s stainless steel side vents, chrome wing mirrors and windscreen surround plus quad optic headlights with chrome trim too. There’s a 3.5” Monza lockable fuel filler cap too. You’ll see at the rear of this car, the body is slightly wider than other examples, to accommodate the wider 9” rear wheels.
Inside, the car gets the ‘deluxe’ option with Mulberry leather throughout. There’s an upgraded leather topped centre tunnel and there’s diamond stitching to both the centre tunnel and rear bulk head. ‘Tall’ seats are fitted, as are Lucas three point harnesses and an adjustable driver’s side seat runner. There’s a 13” wooden steering wheel with collapsible boss and brushed aluminium switches.
This is an uber exciting car to look at, sit in and of course, drive. It’s one we are all very fond of at Premier GT, and it offers a very unique and exciting driving experience. This really is the perfect retro-inspired, bespoke built bruiser that’ll ensure smiles from ear to ear each and every single time you drive it.
