It's that time of year again, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is here and this years edition, taking place from the 4th to the 7th of July, looks set to continue the success of recent years.

Now a staple on the motoring events calendar, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is the place to be this summer. With a stunning and unrivalled array of machines on display, the Festival brings together everything from the rare to the exotic.

Famed for its diverse selection of machines from both past and present, Goodwood is a real treat for the senses as you get up close and personal to your dream cars and drivers. Part of what makes the Festival of Speed so special is the level of access afforded to you. Allowed to get up close and personal to both drivers and machines, there truly isn’t another event quite like the Festival of Speed.

Set in the grounds of the world-famous Goodwood House and surrounding estate, the 2019 Goodwood Festival of Speed looks set to be a fantastic event and wherever your interests lie, be that in the forest rally stage, in the motorbike paddock, the contemporary supercar paddock or up in the sky, there really is something for everyone and the 2019 event has many machines to look out for.

Let's take a look at some of the must-see exhibits at this year's festival.

DBS Superleggera Volante

Staking their claim with the coupe variant, Aston Martin announced their return to form by unveiling the stunning DBS Superleggera last year. Now a year after it’s initial launch, Aston is back and this time it brings with it a drop top Volante variant. An achingly beautiful machine in its own right in the first instance, the Volante looks set to add that added sense of theatre to those drives by taking the roof off. No doubt, this will be one of the stars this year.

New, Angrier Ford GT

Ford has recently released a number of teaser images hinting at a new, more hardcore Ford GT. Sources have remained tight-lipped on the details around this beefed up GT, but what is clear from the teaser images is that this new GT is going to be far more aggressive in its styling. Due to be unveiled on Thursday, it won’t be long until we discover what is under that cover.

Electric Revolution

Naturally, as we head to an all-electric future, electric cars are going to feature heavily at this year's Festival of Speed. From road to race cars, anything electric will feature prominently and one jewel in the electric crown on display will be the Volkswagen I.D. R concept machine that will be fresh back from it’s record-breaking Nurburgring lap where it stole the electric record. It’s expected that the I.D. R will take to the famous Hillclimb throughout the weekend.

Ferrari Fest

Ferrari is billed to bring examples of most of its product range. However, in addition, there are set to be some headline machines. Ferrari has caught the world's imagination of late after it took the wraps off it’s latest hybrid creation. Ferrari is set to capture a similar amount of attention at FOS this year as it brings the, strictly one-off, Ferrari P80/C out for the public. In addition, the 812 based Monza specials are also said to be in attendance.

This year’s event looks set to be a major highlight of the year and will provide for a tantalising glimpse into the next 12 months. In addition to the headline cars, this year's Festival has managed to attract some top name drivers with the likes of Daniel Ricciardo and Britains Lando Norris, both set to be in action over the weekend.

At Premier GT we’re very much looking forward to being present at the event and we’ll be sharing content across our social networks to share with you some of our highlights, so stay tuned!
