Ferrari is well-known for being tight-lipped about their up-coming designs. But we've caught wind that a convertible version of the 812 Superfast has been approved for production using the same clever electric two-part folding hardtop system currently found on the 488 Spider (see it in action in the video below).

Ferrari have previously refused to remodel its V12 super-GTs as convertible versions due to the compromises that have to made on weight and centre of gravity. Not to mention that it is notoriously difficult to package this kind of system in a beautiful way.

We can only assume that Ferrari have tackled and conquered these problems. Though judging by the speed and performance of the existing 812 Superfast, it would take more than taking the roof off to slow this incredible machine down. We can only wait and see.
