Back in April of this year, the new Porsche 911 GT3 RS lapped the Nürburging in 6m 56.4s. Just short of the 6m 52.01s set by the Lamborghini Huracán Performante, it still makes it one of the world’s fastest production cars around this notoriously difficult and dangerous race circuit. Quicker than Porsche’s own 918 Spyder, the Lamborghini Aventador SV, the Nissan GT-R, Ferrari Enzo, Mercedes SLS AMG…need we go on?

Not only this, but the new GT3 RS is 24 seconds faster than the old model. TWENTY FOUR SECONDS! That’s pretty incredible. Not only this, each of Porsche’s four laps was under seven minutes, and barely tenths of a second apart. The test driver, Estre, was quoted as saying that “through the fast corners and on the brakes in particular the GT3 RS is unbelievably close to our GT3 R racing car”.

Maybe this doesn’t come as too much of a shock considering the GT3 RS and the race track are a match made in heaven. Packing a 520bhp punch with its 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat six, the GT3 RS goes from 0-62mph in 3.2s and tops out at 193mph.

So, put down whatever it is that you’re doing and watch the video of the GT3 RS smashing the Nürburgring. Then check out our identical Porsche 911 GT3 RS for sale HERE! You’re welcome.
