• We’re already fans of Porsche’s “Moby Dick” inspired 935…

Inspired by the 1978 Porsche 935/78 (nicknamed Moby Dick for its white colour and long tail), the Porsche 935 is quite simply a thing of breath-taking beauty. Powered by a 3.8-litre, twin-turbocharged flat-six engine borrowed straight from the 991 GT2 RS and producing 690bhp, it features a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It has also pinched the rear wing endplates from a 919 LMP1, the side mirrors from a 911 RSR, the carbon fibre steering wheel and digital instrument cluster from a 911 GT3 R and the wood gearshifter from the Carrera GT. However, the majority of the 935’s bodywork is made from bespoke carbon fibre composite that is all its own.

Anyway, the point is, it’s incredible to look at and, if this track footage is anything to go by, just as incredible to drive.

Only 77 935s are due to be built, each priced at around £625,000 + VAT, with the first cars delivered to their owners in June 2019.
