The 458 Speciale is one of Ferrari's all-time greats. It isn't simply a sharpened 458 Italia, it's a different car altogether, and one that will be remembered as among the most coveted Maranello has ever built.

The innovations run through the entire car, several of them Ferrari patents and genuine world firsts. The 4.5 litre naturally aspirated V8 sends 597bhp to the rear wheels at 9000rpm, making it one of the most potent atmospheric V8s ever produced. 0-62mph arrives in 3.0 seconds, with a top speed of 202mph. A carbon fibre underbody, lighter carbon ceramic brakes, forged wheels and a stripped-back cabin cut 90kg from the Italia's kerb weight, while magnetic dampers, stiffer springs and active aero sharpen the car further still.

This particular example carries a full Ferrari Service History and Full PPF, and presents in Nero Daytona Metallic with a Grigio Corsa Racing Livery and Scuderia Ferrari Shields on the wings. Giallo Modena brake callipers sit behind the wheels, and the theme continues underneath with a carbon fibre engine bay, front lip and rear diffuser.

Inside, carbon fibre extends to the door sills, centre console and steering wheel, set against Nero 8500 leather with Giallo special stitching and Giallo safety belts. The headrests carry the Cavallino stitched in yellow, and the large carbon fibre racing seats feature Nero Tessuto T3D1 inserts, finished with the driver seat adjustment system for everyday usability. The Yellow Rev Counter remains one of the Speciale's signature details, visible through that carbon fibre wheel. Navigator system with Bluetooth, integrated audio and a rear view camera bring some welcome modern convenience to an otherwise thoroughbred cabin.

Speciale numbers were limited from new, and cars specified this thoroughly, in this colour combination, continue to draw serious attention from collectors. Available today from Premier GT.
